AACD Hospital - Block D

We carried out a major renovation at AACD, bringing more innovation, efficiency, and comfort to the facility!

This project was part of a broader effort to expand and modernize the hospital complex, marked by the inauguration of the new tower - an event attended by federal, state, and municipal authorities, celebrating an important achievement for the health and well-being of the population.

PLANSERVICE was responsible for the Construction Management, covering approximately 8,000 m² of expansion and nearly 2,000 m² of retrofit.

Project Highlights:

• Modernization of 1,530 m² in technical and care areas
• Complete renovation of 20 ICU beds
• Expansion of 2 operating rooms in the former medical lounge area
• Enlargement of the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• 21 new inpatient beds
• 6 new operating rooms
• 45 new parking spaces
• Expansion of administrative areas, Medication Center, and Medical Lounge

Challenges and Insights:

• The work was carried out while the Surgical Center remained fully operational, requiring total synergy between AACD, Racional, and Planservice
• Before renovating the ICU, it was necessary to reinforce the upper slab structure, which had not seen interventions for over 40 years
• Layout adaptations were key to integrating hidden piping, ensuring a more modern and functional environment
• During construction, the ICU was relocated to an inpatient floor, making use of the newly expanded beds
